I’ve officially been with Sierra Six Media for a whole month!?
Jade hired me back in February, starting 1st March and I was immediately excited to work at this wonderful company. One of the first things that stood out to me about Sierra Six is the emphasises on being a woman-led company and the desire to prioritise women advancing in digital marketing, and boy! has this been shown in my first month.
Jade took me on with a lot of belief in me and my work, and from my first day, she told me she was impressed with my content. We have also spoken about higher-education as Jade really wants me to progress further in my career. On my first day, Jade surprised me with a welcome tray with a notepad, pen, a card and some yummy chocolates? which just illustrated how much Jade cares about her employees/team, and the very warm and inviting work culture at Sierra Six.
I joined Sierra Six at a very hectic time, with the team growing and finding an office we have had a very muddle couple of weeks, rushing around with Jade to find an office space and to buy items for the office, but it has been a lot of fun. And there have been some enjoyable perks such as a pizza Friday, a drinks team call and a picnic lunch, to count just a few.
But it hasn’t all been running around, we have been doing some fast-paced work. I have been creating blog posts, social media content, editing the back-end of the website and more! I have really enjoyed learning under Jade, watching how she works and learning the processes of the company. And for the first time, I’m actually excited to get up every day and go to work and that is down to Jade being such an excellent Director, she’s so lovely and knowledgeable and is always happy to help or explain anything when I’m stuck.
Sierra Six is a thriving small business, producing astounding results for clients. It’s very exciting to see how empowering it can be to work with other women and contribute in such a welcoming environment, within a male-dominated industry. The company will definitely go far with Jade as the director.???
